Qatar, Egypt Premiers Hold Talks on Ties, Gaza Crisis


(MENAFN) On Tuesday, Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani met with Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Kamal Madbouly to strengthen bilateral ties and address the escalating crisis in the Gaza Strip.

Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement highlighting that discussions centered on boosting investment and economic collaboration between the two nations.

The leaders also reviewed recent developments in the region, with a particular focus on the volatile situation in Gaza.

The statement underscored ongoing joint mediation efforts by Qatar and Egypt aimed at securing a ceasefire in Gaza. This ceasefire would seek to enable the release of prisoners and detainees, as well as facilitate humanitarian aid delivery to alleviate the dire conditions faced by civilians in the Strip.

Both parties reiterated their unwavering support for regional and international initiatives dedicated to reducing tensions and fostering lasting peace and stability across the area.
