UAE Pres. Affirms Support For Syria's Development, Stability

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ABU DHABI, July 7 (KUNA) -- UAE President Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed reaffirmed to his Syrian counterpart Ahmad Al-Sharaa UAE consistent support for Syria and everything that serves its interests and realizes their aspirations for development, stability and prosperous future.
According to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed received President Al-Sharaa today, Monday, who is on a working visit to the country. During their meeting at Al Shati Palace in Abu Dhabi, they discussed the fraternal relations between the two countries and ways to enhance cooperation and joint efforts, particularly in developmental and economic fields, in a manner that serves their mutual interests and brings prosperity and growth to their peoples.
The two sides also exchanged views on a number of regional issues of common concern, emphasizing the importance of strengthening the foundations of peace, security, and stability in the Middle East for the benefit of all its nations and the development and prosperity of its peoples.
For his part, the Syrian President, according to WAM, expressed his gratitude to Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed for the UAE's supportive stance toward Syria and its people, and appreciated his keenness to strengthen the fraternal relations between the two countries. He also wished the UAE continued progress and prosperity.
President Al-Sharaa arrived in Abu Dhabi earlier today, where he was received at Al Bateen Airport by Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, along with a number of senior officials. (end)
