Egypt, Oman Underline Diplomatic Way Out Of Iran Nuclear Crisis


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, July 1 (KUNA) - Egypt and Oman stressed Tuesday the significance of holding up Iran-Israeli occupation ceasefire and ensuring diplomatic solutions to the Iranian nuclear crisis, leading up to regional de-escalation and stability.
This came during a meeting held between Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and his Omani counterpart Badr Albusaidi, which was followed by a joint Egyptian-Omani committee meeting, said the Egyptian Foreign Ministry in a press release.
During the meeting, both ministers tackled a set of regional issues, with the Egyptian minister underlining the necessity of resuming Gaza ceasefire, releasing prisoners and allowing in humanitarian, relief and medical aid.
He also briefed the Omani minister on Cairo's arrangements for hosting an international conference on Gaza early recovery and reconstruction once the ceasefire agreement was reached.
Furthermore, the two ministers reiterated their countries' emphatic opposition to displacement of Palestinians from Gaza, but vowed to step up joint efforts to drum up international support for the Arab plan for Gaza reconstruction and bi-state approach.
At the end of the meeting, they signed seven memoranda of understanding (MoUs) and executive programs covering labor, mineral resources, investment, media, food safety, endowments and religious affairs. (end)
