Netanyahu claims US attack on Iran will ‘change history’
(MENAFN) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has praised U.S. President Donald Trump for authorizing airstrikes on Iran, calling the move a bold and historic step that could reshape the future of the Middle East.
On Saturday night, American forces launched coordinated attacks on Iran’s nuclear sites in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan—strikes that Tehran has denounced as a serious breach of international law and a violation of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.
Netanyahu commended Trump’s decision, stating it marked a significant moment in history. “This action has created a historic pivot point that could guide the region—and the world—toward peace and prosperity,” he said. “Congratulations, President Trump. Your courageous leadership and the overwhelming might of the United States will change the course of history.”
According to U.S. defense officials, B-2 stealth bombers deployed bunker-buster bombs on Fordow, while U.S. submarines launched dozens of Tomahawk missiles targeting the Natanz and Isfahan nuclear facilities.
President Trump called the operation a “very successful” military effort and reiterated his warning that Iran must come to the negotiating table or risk facing additional strikes if it chooses to retaliate.
