Trump Says Gaza Ceasefire Possible Within Next Week

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) WASHINGTON, June 28 (KUNA) -- US President Donald Trump stated that he believes it is possible to reach a ceasefire agreement in Gaza Strip between Hamas and the Israeli occupation within the next week.
Speaking to reporters on Friday, Trump said that the situation in Gaza is catastrophic and that he believes a ceasefire in Gaza is close.
He indicated that he spoke with some people involved in trying to reach a ceasefire, adding that there is a possibility of reaching this goal within the next week.
The United States announced on Thursday that it is currently focusing on reaching an agreement to end the Israeli occupation's war on the besieged Gaza Strip.
US State Department Deputy Spokesman Tommy Piggott had cited the humanitarian situation in the Strip as the main propeller behind this. (end)
