Amman, June 25 (Petra) – Deputizing for His Majesty King Abdullah II, Minister of Waqf and Islamic Affairs Mohammad Khalayleh on Wednesday led a celebration on the new Hijri year at Martyr King Abdullah bin Al-Hussein Mosque's Islamic Cultural Center.
In a sermon, Khalayleh said the Prophet Mohammad's hijra (migration) to Medina "came to realize the concept of succession on earth and fulfill worship in its comprehensive nature, encompassing all aspects of life."
"Islam came to make and preserve life as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), taught us in the lesson of migration how to utilize energies, experiences and competencies."
"The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), was keen to participate in the migration and endeavor for its success to fulfill its goal, involving men, women, and youth, who had immortal roles in teaching the ummah (Muslim nation) that all good lies in concerted efforts and collective action," he told the audience.
The minister recalled the journey of the Prophet and his noble companions, and the colossal harm and injustice they had endured, but the empowerment, victory and relief for the Islamic ummah (nation) finally came after the patience and cooperation.
The minister congratulated His Majesty King Abdullah II, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, the royal family and Jordanians on the holy occasion.
Also addressing the ceremony, Chief Justice Sheikh Abdul Hafiz Rabtah said the Prophet's migration heralds the beginning of the Muslim nation's history, and was "a divine support model and planning by the Prophet, the human leader who set the sublime values ??of patience and wisdom."
