Temperatures To Remain Above Seasonal Averages Through Sunday

Amman, June 19 (Petra) -- Weather conditions across the country are expected to remain relatively hot through the weekend, with temperatures exceeding seasonal norms by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department.
On Thursday, most regions will experience relatively hot weather, while higher temperatures are expected in the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Northwesterly winds will blow at moderate speeds, occasionally picking up in desert areas.
A slight dip in temperatures is forecast for Friday. The weather will turn moderate over the highlands and plains, while the Badia, Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba will continue to see hot conditions. Winds will maintain a northwesterly flow, remaining moderate to occasionally active in desert areas.
The forecast for Saturday and Sunday indicates a return to relatively hot weather across most parts of the Kingdom, with hotter conditions persisting in the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Winds are expected to remain moderate and northwesterly.
Today, temperatures are expected to vary significantly by region. In East Amman, highs will reach 34 C with lows around 18 C, while West Amman will see slightly cooler conditions at 32 C / 16 C.
The northern highlands are forecast to record temperatures between 30 C and 15 C, and the Sharah highlands between 29 C and 14 C. In contrast, hotter conditions will prevail in the Badia, where temperatures are expected to range from 38 C during the day to 20 C at night.
Similar highs are forecast for the plains at 34 C / 18 C. The northern Jordan Valley will see temperatures of 38 C / 24 C, while the southern Jordan Valley will be hotter at 39 C / 27 C.
The Dead Sea region is expected to reach 38 C during the day and drop to 26 C overnight, matching the overnight low in Aqaba, which will also see a daytime high of 39 C.
