Turkish President Supports Iran’s Right to Self-Defense

(MENAFN) On Wednesday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan voiced his support for Iran’s entitlement to defend itself in the escalating tensions with Israel. Speaking to members of his party in parliament, Erdogan declared that it is “legitimate and legal for Iran to defend itself against Israel's banditry and state terrorism.”

He emphasized Türkiye’s commitment to halting what he described as “inhumane aggression” not only targeting Gaza but also impacting Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, and Iran. “Stopping Israel's aggression is essential for humanity,” Erdogan stressed.

Furthermore, Erdogan revealed that Türkiye is actively preparing for potential challenges stemming from the Israel-Iran confrontation. “All our institutions are on high alert regarding the possible effects of these attacks on Türkiye,” he confirmed, highlighting the country’s readiness to face any adverse scenarios linked to the conflict.
