Amman, June 16 (Petra) -- The Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission (JIACC), in collaboration with the Hayat Centre - Rasid and Plan International, has launched the Integrity Caravan on Monday as part of the second cycle of the National Integrity Index 2024-2025, targeting 119 government agencies.
During the launch ceremony, JIACC Vice Chairman Sami Salaita highlighted the significance of the phase, noting that it involves comprehensive three-way opinion polls. The polls aim to objectively assess the level of integrity within institutions based on feedback from employees and service recipients.
Salaita explained that the results from this phase will account for 40 per cent of the final score for each targeted institution. The findings will help establish a transparent picture of strengths and areas for improvement, guiding institutions to enhance their sectors, improve service delivery and ensure the efficient use of public funds in line with national interests.
For his part, Amer Bani Amer, Director of the Hayat Centre - Rasid, discussed the partnerships between the Commission and civil society organisations in strengthening the national integrity system.
Bani Amer described the National Integrity Index as a strategic tool that enhances government service efficiency and supports the development of public institutions in accordance with reform priorities and national goals.
Bani Amer added that fostering transparency, accountability and anti-corruption efforts is fundamental to building trust between citizens and the state. Such efforts are essential for sustainable development and the principles of good governance.
Prior to the launch, the Commission conducted a training programme to familiarise participants with the Integrity Caravan. The programme was inaugurated by the Commission's Secretary-General, Amjad Narmouk.
Young volunteers participating in the programme will distribute questionnaires to targeted government agencies, accompanied by Commission staff for supervision and follow-up.
During the session, Muwaffaq Ziadat, the Commission's Strategic Planning Advisor, provided an overview of the Commission's strategic directions, the current cycle of the Index and insights from the first cycle's opinion poll and caravan activities.
The launch ceremony was attended by Abeer Madanat, Executive Director of Transparency International Monitor - Jordan; Mahmoud Karaki, Programme Director at Plan International - Jordan; members of the Commission's Board; senior officials from various organisational units; and Commission liaison officers in public agencies.
