Pakistani Minister Urges Muslim World to Act Against Israeli Attacks
(MENAFN) targeting Iranian military and nuclear facilities. He cautioned that failure to respond as a collective would embolden future aggression across the Middle East.
Addressing the National Assembly on Saturday, Asif claimed that Israel did not operate in isolation during its latest offensive. He insisted that the assault was supported by foreign intelligence and protective cover. Israel “did not act alone,” Asif said, asserting that it received “intelligence, cover, and support.”
The minister emphasized the strategic vulnerabilities faced by the Muslim world and pushed for a coordinated defense posture. “Just as Israel is currently targeting Yemen, Iran, and Palestine, if the Muslim world does not unite today and continues to prioritize its own interests and agendas, then everyone’s turn will come,” he warned lawmakers.
Asif called for immediate action from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), urging it to develop a comprehensive policy to address Israel’s military maneuvers. He further advocated for cutting diplomatic ties with Tel Aviv. “Wherever there are diplomatic ties with Israel in the Muslim world, they should be severed,” he stated.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s support for Tehran, Asif declared, “We stand behind Iran and will support them at every international forum to protect their interests.”
The latest escalation erupted on Friday morning, when Israeli warplanes struck several high-profile targets across Iran, including key military bases and nuclear facilities. The Israeli Defense Forces also reportedly eliminated a number of senior Iranian military officials and nuclear scientists. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu justified the attacks as necessary to stop Iran from advancing its nuclear weapons program.
In retaliation, Tehran launched multiple ballistic missiles toward Israeli cities, with Tel Aviv among those targeted.
Although the U.S. government has officially denied any role in the offensive, President Donald Trump openly endorsed the Israeli action. In the wake of the assault, Iran has halted its ongoing nuclear negotiations with Washington.
