Probe Examines Foreign Visitors to Musk’s Properties

(MENAFN) During former President Joe Biden’s tenure, U.S. federal authorities scrutinized visits by international individuals to locations connected with Elon Musk, according to a Tuesday report from a news agency, which referenced sources aware of the inquiry.

This examination, which spanned from 2022 to 2023, was carried out by the Department of Homeland Security alongside the Department of Justice.

Despite the extent of the probe, it concluded without any legal action.

Investigators centered their attention on visitors from Eastern Europe and additional territories who “might have been trying to influence” Musk, the report stated.

Musk, a prominent figure in the tech world, holds privileged access to classified material due to his firms' contracts with the U.S. government.

However, it was reported that he was not permitted to view certain highly sensitive data related to SpaceX.

In 2022, Musk became politically active on a national scale by purchasing Twitter — now rebranded as X — a platform he claimed was involved in censoring right-leaning voices.

By 2024, Musk had utilized his financial resources and public influence to back Donald Trump’s campaign to return to the White House.

Until not long ago, he also held a temporary advisory position within the Trump team aimed at minimizing government inefficiency.

However, their partnership seemed to deteriorate recently, following an online exchange of criticisms over a key budget measure.
