Mansehra Police Rescue Toddler After Shootout, Kill Two Afghan Kidnappers
According to police, a woman from Kohistan Colony filed a report at the Balakot police station on June 5, stating that her two-and-a-half-year-old son and her sister-in-law had gone missing. She said her husband's sister had taken the boy with her to seek spiritual healing but never returned.
While the search was underway, the child's father, who resides in Dubai, received a phone call demanding a ransom of Rs30 million from unknown individuals.
During the investigation, police traced the kidnappers and learned that they had summoned the affected family to Dumgala for ransom delivery. When police surrounded the location, the suspects opened fire, prompting a retaliatory response.
In the ensuing gunfight, two kidnappers were killed, and the child along with the woman were safely recovered. Police confirmed that the deceased suspects were Afghan nationals.
