Medical Teams Of Qatar Hajj Mission Provide High-Quality Care To 1,380 Pilgrims
Doha, Qatar: The Qatari Hajj Mission Medical Unit has successfully delivered high-quality medical care to Qatari pilgrims throughout the Hajj pilgrimage, treating a total of 1,380 cases ranging from mild to moderate in severity.
Head of the Medical Unit with the Qatari Hajj Mission Dr. Khalid Abdulhadi Issa emphasized the unit's commitment to accompanying pilgrims at every stage of their spiritual journey-from Makkah to Mina on the Day of Tarwiyah, to Arafat, Muzdalifah, and throughout the Days of Tashreeq in Mina.
Speaking to Qatar TV he said the medical teams were fully deployed across all locations, ensuring immediate and effective response to any medical needs.
Dr. Issa said,“We planned thoroughly from Doha and executed these plans on the ground in Makkah. We aimed to ensure that no Qatari pilgrim would need medical care without receiving it-at the highest standards of quality.”
He said that out of the 1,380 cases treated, the majority were classified as mild to moderate. Only three to four cases were severe, but Dr. Issa expressed optimism that those individuals would soon recover sufficiently to return home to Qatar.
Dr. Issa said that one notable new initiative this year was the deployment of mobile on-foot ambulance teams accompanying pilgrims during the stoning ritual (Ramy) and in the movement to and from the Jamarat area. This ensured rapid response to emergency needs and upheld high standards of care in the field.
He said that the unit with separate clinics for men and women and a strong presence of female Qatari doctors to cater to the needs of female pilgrims.“Our principle is simple: wherever there is even one Qatari pilgrim, there must be a medical team present,” Dr. Issa stated.
The final day of the pilgrimage was marked by a successful completion of the medical mission. Dr. Issa highlighted the support and directives of the Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and the Minister of Public Health, noting that the medical services provided were a direct reflection of the Qatari delegation's commitment to safeguarding the health and safety of its pilgrims.
A concluding inspection of the camps confirmed that no pilgrims had been left behind, and medical teams remained until the safe departure of all pilgrims from Mina.
“Our ultimate goal is to earn the pleasure of Allah,” said Dr. Issa.“We are honoured to have fulfilled our duty to the pilgrims and to have carried out the instructions of the Qatari Hajj leadership to the fullest extent.”
This year's mission has been widely praised by Qatari Hajj officials, campaign organizers, and the pilgrims themselves, who all expressed appreciation for the seamless medical support provided throughout the pilgrimage.
