PARIS, June 3 (KUNA) -- In a magical Parisian atmosphere and under the open sky, Shakespeare's words come to life once again in theatrical performances held throughout the summer in the Shakespeare Garden in the Bois de Boulogne, where poetry meets music, classical art meets stunning nature in a unique cultural experience.
The garden will host open-air performances by the famous writer William Shakespeare, set in a natural setting in the park's outdoor spaces, from June 14 to September 28, offering the public a unique cultural experience.
The Garden's theatre presents a group of theatrical and musical works inspired by the works of the famous English writer, including "Hamlet," "Romeo and Juliet," "A Midsummer Night's Dream," and "The Tempest".
In remarks to KUNA, Co-Director of the garden theater, Hedi Tillette de Clermont-Tonerre said that the open-air nature of the theater encourages artists to interact with external elements such as light, sun, rain, and even birds and squirrels, giving each show a new character.
He also noted that open-air theatres constitute spaces for cultural democracy, as rehearsals take place directly in front of the audience, removing barriers between the artist and the audience.
Open spaces enhance the closeness between artists and audiences and provide a space for interaction after the performances, he added.
Shakespeare's Garden is located at the eastern end of the Bois de Boulogne, west of the French capital, Paris. It is a green space dedicated to celebrating the works of the English writer William Shakespeare. It was opened in 1853 and includes plant species inspired by his plays, such as thyme and lavender.
