Finnish National Airline Cancels Flights
(MENAFN) Finnair, Finland's primary airline, has halted 110 scheduled flights in response to a labor stoppage initiated by the aviation workers’ union, according to local news sources on Monday.
Approximately 14,000 travelers are expected to be impacted by the protest organized by the Finnish Aviation Union (IAU), as reported by a national broadcaster, which referenced statements from the airline.
The labor action is disrupting essential services on the ground and in-flight catering at Helsinki Airport.
The report noted that luggage handling processes could also experience significant delays or interruptions.
In the latest updates, the IAU declared that further demonstrations are on the horizon.
Should negotiations fail to yield a resolution, the union has scheduled additional stoppages for May 30 and June 2.
