Fatal Traffic Collision in Philippines Leaves One Dead, Ten Injured


(MENAFN) Authorities in Antique province, central Philippines, reported a fatal traffic collision on Monday morning that resulted in one death and injuries to ten others. According to police reports, the incident occurred before 7 a.m. local time along a highway in Pandan town. The deceased has been identified as the 64-year-old male driver of a van.

Social media footage captured the van traveling at high speed and veering into the opposite lane, leading to a direct impact with an oncoming bus. The force of the collision caused the bus to veer off the road and strike a house pillar. Fortunately, no residents or pedestrians sustained injuries.

The injured include the bus driver and several passengers. Police confirmed that the van driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle, which they indicated was used for tourist transportation. Investigations are currently underway to determine the cause of the crash.
