Violence in Gaza Takes Lives, Displaces Families
(MENAFN) Nearly ten Palestinians lost their lives early Sunday as Israeli strikes on the Gaza Strip hit residential areas and tents where displaced individuals had sought refuge, based on accounts from medical personnel and eyewitnesses.
In the Nuseirat refugee camp located in the central region of Gaza, an air raid by Israeli forces struck the residence of the Darwish family.
Medical authorities informed the media that nine individuals, among them women and children, perished in the attack.
In the southern part of the territory, a drone operated by Israeli forces attacked a tent sheltering displaced civilians in the Al-Mawasi zone, west of Khan Younis.
The strike resulted in the death of a Palestinian woman and left four others wounded, including minors.
Gaza’s Civil Defense reported that emergency teams recovered the woman’s body and assisted in evacuating several injured children and elderly people from the scene.
Elsewhere in Khan Younis, fighter jets bombed a residence in the Al-Farahin neighborhood of Abasan al-Kabira. However, according to bystanders, no immediate details on injuries or fatalities were available.
In the southern city of Rafah, witnesses stated that Israeli naval forces fired upon the city’s shoreline.
Simultaneously, in eastern Gaza City, Israeli military units demolished multiple residential structures, forcing more inhabitants to flee their homes.
Since October 2023, over 51,000 Palestinians have died in the intense Israeli offensive on Gaza, with the majority of the casualties being women and children.
