
Qatar, Burundi Discuss Bilateral Labour Relations
Bujumbura: The Qatar-Burundi Joint Committee on Labour held its inaugural meeting for 2025 on Monday in Bujumbura, Burundi, under the chairmanship of Minister of Labour HE Dr. Ali bin Saeed bin Samikh Al Marri and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation of the Republic of HE Burundi Albert Shingiro.
The committee reviewed recent developments in bilateral labour relations between the two countries, including measures to enhance cooperation in regulating labour recruitment processes and initiatives to increase the reliance on a pool of qualified and trained workers that meets the needs of Qatar's labour market in line with Qatar National Vision 2030. In addition, the committee discussed the implementation of the labour agreement signed between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Burundi.
During the meeting, both ministers voiced their satisfaction with the strong relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Burundi. They emphasized the importance of holding regular meetings of the Joint Committee to reinforce strategic partnerships, overcome any obstacles, and further enhance joint efforts in the future.
