Macron: Russia Must Immediately Stop Pretenses Tactics, Accept Unconditional Ceasefire

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) French President Emmanuel Macron has called on Russia to immediately end its pretenses and delaying tactics and to accept the unconditional ceasefire proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump.

He made this statement during a visit to Cairo, Ukrinform reports, citing Le Figaro .

"For almost a month now, not only has Russia been refusing to accept this, but it has also been increasing its bombing of civilians, with tragic losses occurring just a few days ago in Ukraine," Macron said.

He said that Europe supports President Trump's goal of ending the war and seeks a lasting and durable peace that will ensure the security of both Ukraine and all Europeans.

"This is why it is urgent that Russia stop its pretenses and delaying tactics and accept the unconditional ceasefire proposed by President Trump -- a proposal that President Zelensky agreed to in Jeddah on March 11," Macron said.
