Trump Downplays Worries Regarding Military Group Chat
(MENAFN) Leader Donald Trump has downplayed worries regarding a journalist being unintentionally included in a group chat about military plans on the messaging app Signal. He asserted that there was “no classified information” exchanged within the chat.
The Signal group, named the "Houthi PC small group," allegedly consisted of senior officials like Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, along with CIA Director John Ratcliffe.
In a startling revelation on Monday, Jeffrey Goldberg, the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic magazine, disclosed that he had been accidentally added to the “Houthi PC small group” chat on March 13, after getting a connection request from an account with the name of US National Security Adviser Mike Waltz just two days before.
During a White House talk on Tuesday, Trump voiced his belief in his national security team, asserting: “Our national security now is stronger than it’s ever been.”
