France Condemns Israeli Settlers' Violence Against Palestinians In W. Bank

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) PARIS, March 25 (KUNA) -- France on Tuesday condemned the violence perpetrated by extremist settlers against Palestinian residents in the West Bank, particularly in the Palestinian village of Susya in the Masafer Yatta area in the southern West Bank.
In a statement, the French Foreign Ministry called on the Israeli occupation authorities to punish the perpetrators of this violence, which continues with impunity, and to protect Palestinian civilians.
France also specifically condemned the attack on Hamdan Bilal, co-director of "No Other Land," which won the Anna Politkovskaya-Armand Soldaine Award for Journalistic Courage from the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The statement reiterated France's condemnation of the settlements operations, which contravenes international law - as noted by the International Court of Justice in its advisory ruling issued on July 19 - and imposed sanctions on extremist settlers responsible for violence against Palestinian civilians in the West Bank.
