Oryx FM Radio Spreads Islam's Message On Preservation Of Environment

Doha: As part of Oryx FM's radio station programming plan for Ramadan, it addressed the importance of preserving the environment in the Islamic religion. The FM radio hosted Dr. Muhammad Al Hajj, an expert in the Arab-Islamic language and civilization, in the weekly programme“Environmental Journal” presented by environmental journalist Dr. Thierry Le Salle.

Dr. Muhammad Al Hajj went through the principles of the Islamic religion related to the ecological aspect.

During the talk show, he stressed the importance devoted by the Islamic religion to the protection of the environment, and the value of the person who is keen to make positive efforts to preserve the environment.

He cited examples from the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH) about rejecting any form of damaging the environment, and the necessity of animal welfare, stressing the distinguished position that the Islamic religion has allocated to preserving the environment and its fauna and flora.

“Environment Journal” is one of the oldest programmes aired on the radio for ten years.

The radio has been allocating airtime for programmes related to preserving the environment through awareness articles about ethical rules and laws that must be respected and applied during camping trips, and through other programs to encourage the discovery and preservation of nature in the State of Qatar.
