Energea Announces 12.2% IRR In 2024, Highlights Global Expansion
In October, Energea joined world leaders in signing the Abidjan Accord, committing to continued investment in African renewable energy. Organized by Bridgewater Associates and Global Citizen , the event brought together six African presidents, the World Bank , investment leaders, and global financiers to discuss Africa's investment potential. The Abidjan Accord calls for a $120 billion replenishment of the International Development Association (IDA) Fund, ensuring that Africa has the financial resources needed to address its infrastructure, energy, and educational needs.
In the spirit of the Abidjan Accord, Energea announced a partnership with Hecate Global Renewables (HGR) , extending a senior secured loan up to $10M. This debt financing will help support the 60MW Bonsmara project in South Africa as well as the 50MW Bumpe project in Sierra Leone. While equity investments remain the cornerstone of Energea's investment strategy, blending equity and debt financing provides consistent income while diversifying risk.
Building on its 2024 successes, Energea is poised for continued growth, focusing on expanding its renewable energy portfolio and entering new markets in Latin America and beyond. The company remains committed to enhancing investor returns while promoting global sustainability.
