Emrill achieves record-breaking participation in 17th annual carnival
(MENAFN- IHC) Leading facilities management services provider, Emrill, broke participation records at its 17th annual employee carnival. Held over 87 days, the carnival attracted 18,528 participants, marking the highest engagement in the event’s history. The event featured 37 competitions, including two newly introduced games, and saw 16 teams compete, with four new additions—Hawk Challengers, Knight Riders, One Zabeel Stallions and Burj Brigade.
Emrill’s annual carnival recognises and encourages team contribution while celebrating employee milestones and achievements. This year’s edition embraced a sustainability theme, incorporating engaging activities such as a quiz competition, guessing games, a selfie contest, and a pencil drawing competition. External referees and umpires were brought in to oversee competitive sporting events, including cricket, football, swimming, and the highly competitive Mr & Ms Emrill competitions.
Since its inception, Emrill’s annual employee carnival has provided a platform for employees to socialise, compete, and strengthen relationships, reinforcing Emrill’s culture of collaboration and inclusivity. This year’s event introduced two new competitions - Sling Shot, which attracted 2,516 participants, and a cooking competition. In addition, twelve exclusive events were organised for female staff, ensuring greater inclusivity and engagement.
Once the sporting events had concluded, winners and runners-up were honoured with trophies in team competitions, including cricket, football, basketball, volleyball, tug-of-war and the fitness challenge. The carnival concluded with a closing ceremony attended by over 2,500 spectators, who gathered to celebrate the participants' achievements, recognise the winners, and mark the successful completion of the event.
Stuart Harrison, Emrill’s CEO, attributed the carnival’s success to a highly engaged workforce: “While our annual employee carnival is a highlight of our social calendar, it’s just one of many initiatives we provide to bring our employees together. Beyond being a platform for friendly competition and socialising, the carnival is a way for us to honour our team’s dedication and achievements. Seeing record-breaking participation this year is a testament to our employees’ enthusiasm, and we look forward to making future editions even more memorable.”
