Emirates flights EK001/002, EK029/030, EK031/032, EK003/004 and EK005/006 (all Dubai-Heathrow-Dubai), as well as EK008 from Heathrow to Dubai were cancelled on Friday.

Emirates assured customers connecting onwards to London Heathrow Airport with confirmed bookings, will be accepted to travel from the point of origin. For cancelled bookings, customers can contact their booking agent for rebooking options. Customers who have booked directly with Emirates can the airline directly for assistance.
The closure of LHR forced numerous flights to divert to other airports in Britain and across Europe, while many long-haul flights returned to their point of departure. According to airline experts, the last time European airports experienced disruption on such a large scale was the 2010 Icelandic ash cloud that grounded some 100,000 flights.
