UNESCO To Review Preservation Of Three World Heritage Sites In Ukraine In July


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) At the 47th session of the World Heritage Committee, which will be held in Paris in July 2025, the issue of preserving three World Heritage sites in Kyiv, Lviv, and Odesa will be considered.

This was reported by the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications , according to Ukrinform.

Deputy Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine, Serhii Bieliayev, during his visit to Paris, met with the Director of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre, Lazare Eloundou Assomo.

The parties discussed the preservation of World Heritage sites in Ukraine. UNESCO representatives noted that one of the key tasks for ensuring the protection of the World Heritage site in Odesa is the creation of an effective management body.

"In July this year, the 47th session of the World Heritage Committee will take place in Paris, where the preservation of three World Heritage sites in Kyiv, Lviv, and Odesa will be reviewed, and appropriate decisions will be made," UNESCO representatives stated.

Assomo and Bieliayev, as experts in the field of architecture, discussed the possibility of organizing internships for restoration students with the support of UNESCO to facilitate the post-war restoration of Ukraine's cultural monuments.

As reported by Ukrinform, UNESCO and the European Union have officially launched a project to preserve the Jewish documentary heritage in Ukraine.
