Pentagon assures continuing US assistance to Ukraine
The Pentagon has officially confirmed that US military assistance and intelligence sharing with Ukraine have been fully restored after being previously halted.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Pentagon Press Secretary Sean Parnell stated that military aid deliveries to Kiev have resumed, alongside the reinstatement of intelligence-sharing operations. His remarks were echoed by Alexus Grynkewich, Commander of US Air Forces Central Command (CENTCOM), who affirmed that aid shipments were once again flowing into Ukraine as before.

The temporary freeze on US assistance had followed a tense confrontation last month at the White House between Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and US President Donald Trump, accompanied by Vice President J.D. Vance. Trump had criticized Zelensky for lacking gratitude and risking global war by refusing to engage in peace negotiations with Russia. Zelensky was subsequently asked to leave Washington and advised to return only when prepared for serious talks.

The announcement of resumed aid coincided with a major phone conversation between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, in which the two leaders discussed potential steps toward resolving the Ukraine conflict. The 2.5-hour call was described as constructive by both the White House and the Kremlin.

During the discussion, Trump and Putin confirmed a mutual 30-day pause on strikes targeting energy infrastructure. However, Kiev allegedly violated the agreement within a day by launching an attack on an energy facility deep inside Russia.

Putin also emphasized that any long-term ceasefire would require establishing a monitoring mechanism, halting forced military mobilization, and preventing further rearmament of Ukraine. Additionally, he asserted that a complete cessation of foreign military aid and intelligence-sharing with Ukraine was essential to preventing further escalation.
