BJP MLA Stages Walkout Over 'Bias' In Assembly
Pathania attempted to raise a listed question during Question Hour but was not allowed by Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather, who stated that his name had been called earlier when he was absent. The MLA explained that he was delayed due to a traffic jam caused by poor traffic management.
Accusing the Speaker and the Assembly Secretariat of unfair treatment, Pathania expressed frustration over not being given a chance to speak and having his queries ignored. In protest, he walked out of the Assembly.
“As per House rules, every MLA can raise 10 questions in both starred and unstarred formats. However, only one of my questions was included in the proceedings. Nineteen remain pending, and the session ends in just seven days,” he told reporters outside the Assembly. Pathania reiterated his objection to what he called a biased approach by the Speaker and the Assembly Secretariat, emphasizing his demand for fair treatment in legislative proceedings
