Tunisian PM discusses bilateral key issues with EU ambassador
(MENAFN) Tunisian Prime Minister Kamel Maddouri held a meeting on Monday with Giuseppe Perrone, the European Union (EU) ambassador to Tunisia, to discuss strengthening two-sided ties and promoting collaboration, as stated by the Tunisian government.
It noted: "The meeting served as a platform for both sides to acknowledge the progress achieved under their long-standing strategic partnership," while highlighting that the discussions were centered on further improving partnership to successfully deal with common challenges.
Both leaders emphasized their commitment to mutual benefits and lasting growth, underscoring the values of respect and fairness.
Maddouri highlighted the importance of translating the 2023 Memorandum of Understanding on Comprehensive and Strategic Partnership into tangible programs and initiatives. He also expressed the need for EU backing in carrying out vital amendments that align with Tunisia's national priorities and vision.
The prime minister expressed his intention to broaden and diversify the Tunisian-European partnership, particularly through increased financial aid under the EU's Tripartite Program for 2025-2027.
