EU Backs Arab-Led Gaza Recovery Agenda
(MENAFN) On Monday, EU foreign policy head Kaja Kallas expressed strong backing for the Arab-led initiative to rebuild Gaza, reaffirming the EU's dedication to assisting the restoration of the enclave.
Kallas, outside the EU Foreign Affairs Council conference in Brussels, stated: "We welcome the Arab reconstruction plan, Gaza reconstruction plan, and try to help as much as we can."
She emphasized the importance of joint efforts to restoring balance to the affected area and assured that the EU is prepared to offer support where needed.
Kallas made these remarks amid growing concerns over the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The ongoing conflict has displaced thousands and left the region’s infrastructure devastated, necessitating immediate reconstruction efforts.
Though the specifics of the Arab reconstruction plan have yet to be fully disclosed, the support from EU leaders like Kallas reflects a broader willingness to contribute to Gaza’s rebuilding.
In addition to discussing reconstruction, Kallas also touched on broader geopolitical issues, such as the clashes in Ukraine and Syria.
