Israeli strikes claim 15 lives in Gaza

(MENAFN) On Sunday, health officials in the territory reported that Israeli military strikes in Gaza claimed the lives of more than fifteen Palestinian individuals within the previous day.

Palestinian news agency stated that Israeli drone strikes in northern Gaza on Saturday resulted in the deaths of nine individuals, as they stormed a gathering in Beit Lahia and struck an automobile.

In an official announcement, the Israel Defense Forces acknowledged carrying out the Beit Lahia strike, alleging that the individuals targeted were "terrorists."

Amid concerns about the stability of the phased ceasefire covenant brokered between Israel and Hamas in January, Israeli forces have escalated their aerial bombardments in Gaza.

The covenant’s initial six-week phase concluded on March 1st, while discussions regarding the subsequent stage continue to be at a standstill.

Since the outbreak of hostilities on October 7, 2023, Israeli assaults in Gaza have resulted in over 48,000 fatalities and no less than 111,000 injuries, as reported by health officials in the enclave.
