Fire erupts on American Airlines aircraft

(MENAFN) On late Thursday, a fire broke out on an American airlines plane at Denver International Airport, as confirmed by the federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

According to the FAA announcement, flight 1006, a Boeing 737-800, took off from Colorado Springs Airport and was bound for Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. However, the crew detected engine vibrations, prompting an unscheduled landing in Denver.

It further noted: "After landing and while taxiing to the gate, an engine caught fire, and passengers evacuated the aircraft using the slides."

Airport officials reported that all 172 passengers, along with six team members, safely exited the aircraft and were transported to the terminal.

The FAA announced plans to conduct a thorough probe into the event.
