Prominent Religious Scholar Mufti Munir Shakir Killed In Peshawar Blast

(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR: Renowned religious scholar Mufti Munir Shakir lost his life in an explosion outside a mosque in the Armar area, while three others sustained injuries.

According to Police reports, the blast occurred outside the mosque, leaving four people injured, including Mufti Munir Shakir. He was shifted to Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) for medical treatment but succumbed to his injuries.

Following the explosion, police, the Bomb Disposal Unit (BDU), and the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) arrived at the scene and began collecting evidence. Authorities revealed that Mufti Munir Shakir suffered injuries to his left foot, which proved fatal. The other injured individuals have been identified as Khushal, Abid, and Syed Nabi. All were provided initial medical aid at LRH.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Health Advisor Ihtesham Ali expressed deep sorrow over the scholar's death, calling it an irreparable loss.“Hearing about Mufti Munir Shakir's martyrdom was heartbreaking,” he stated.

Law enforcement agencies have launched an investigation into the incident, examining the nature and cause of the explosion.
