Pakistan train hijacking death toll rises to 30


(MENAFN) On Friday, Pakistan stated that the number of deaths caused by an illegal train seizure in the southwestern area increased to 30 with suspecting India along with Afghanistan of helping the armed men accountable for the crime.

Fighters who support the Balochistan Liberation army (BLA) fired an explosion in a railroad path then taken over a train on Tuesday in the remote Bolan area of Balochistan district. With around 440 travelers on the train.

The leader of the military's information wing, Lt. Gen. Ahmad Sharif stated that around 26 travelers were murdered along with four dead Police officers during the incident, and that all 33 accused fighters were murdered.

Sharif mentioned that out of the 26 travelers murdered, 18 were police officers then said the number of dead people is possible to rise, because a lot of travelers were wounded during the hijacking.

“The incident of Jaffar Express is continuity of the same policy, the same sponsorship from where it was engineered and from it was being pushed,” he stated, meaning India.
