New Gambling Documentary, Double Or Nothing, Details $1 Million Bet To Overcome Addiction Followed By $2 Million Bet To Run The Honolulu Marathon

DALLAS, March 12, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Leake Brothers Productions is pleased to announce the release of its new documentary film, Double or Nothing, which tells the true story of an aging high roller's biggest wager.

Andy McElroy was a pro bookie until his five-billion-dollar sports gambling ring was busted by the Feds in 2013 . Since then, he has made a living from high stakes personal wagers. The action begins in 2022, when he tells his best friend 'G-Man': "I'll bet you $1 million dollars you can't quit drugs [cocaine, and Xanax] and alcohol." G-Man takes the bet and-to everyone's surprise-quits his addiction cold turkey and remains sober till the end of the year. On the hook for $1 million, Andy offers to run the Honolulu Marathon, even though he is 85 pounds overweight and hadn't walked a mile since 2005. If he fails, he owes double . If he succeeds, he owes nothing . The plot thickens when it is revealed that Andy has a history of cheating. At stake are $2 million and a 30-year friendship.
