Diia app introduces digital weapons permit
(MENAFN) Beta testing has begun for a new digital weapons permit in the Diia app, marking a significant step in Ukraine’s digital transformation.
According to Ukrainian news agency reports, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov revealed the development in a post on Telegram.
The announcement remarked: “The document you have been waiting for is already in Diia. Use the digital weapons permit, generate an extract from the Unified Register of Weapons, and receive notifications about the expiration of the document.”
The permit is based on the electronic firearms registry, which was introduced in 2023.
At first, the document will function in beta evaluation mode. Users can generate their permit within Diia, access complete details about their registered weapons, and monitor the condition of the document. Upon expiration, they will be notified via a push notification and will have the option to renew it online on the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
