
Sunflower Medical Group Data Breach Exposes Personal Information: Murphy Law Firm Investigates Legal Claims
On January 7, 2025, Sunflower Medical Group, P.A. (“Sunflower”) detected suspicious activity on its computer network, indicating a data breach. Based on a subsequent forensic investigation, Sunflower determined that cybercriminals infiltrated its inadequately secured computer environment and thereby gained access to its data files on or about December 15, 2024. The investigation further determined that, through this infiltration, cybercriminals accessed and even copies files containing the sensitive personal information of potentially 220,968 individuals.
The information exposed in the data breach includes, but is not limited to:
- Names
- Social Security numbers
- Medical information
- Health insurance information
- Dates of birth
- Addresses
- Driver's license numbers
