Turkish Manufacturing Capacity Utilization Goes Up in March


(MENAFN) The capacity utilization rate in Turkey’s manufacturing sector rose by 0.3 percentage points to 75.2 percent in March, according to a survey conducted by the Turkish Central Bank and released on Tuesday.

The data revealed that the highest utilization rate for the month was 74.8 percent in the production of intermediate products, while the lowest rate was 72.1 percent in durable consumer products.

When analyzed by sector, the paper products industry had the highest capacity usage at 84 percent, whereas leather products had the lowest at 61.2 percent.

The capacity utilization numbers are derived from responses to a business tendency survey conducted among local firms operating in the manufacturing sector.

The Turkish Central Bank stated that 1,738 companies participated in this month’s survey, emphasizing that the results do not represent the bank's views or forecasts.
