US suspends intelligence collaboration with Ukraine

(MENAFN) According to CIA Director John Ratcliffe affirmation on Wednesday, the United States has halted intelligence collaboration with Ukraine.

Ratcliffe informed a news agency: "Trump had a real question about whether President Zelenskyy was committed to the peace process, and he said, 'Let’s pause.’"

The pause came after a dispute erupted in the Oval Office between US President Donald trump and Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy on last Friday.

Ratcliffe displayed optimism that the cessation would be withdrawn in the near future.

He stated: "I think on the military front and the intelligence front, the pause I think will go away, and I think we'll work shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine as we have to push back on the aggression that's there, but to put the world in a better place for these peace negotiations to move forward."

In his first joint address to Congress on Tuesday, Trump revealed that he had received correspondence from Zelenskyy indicating Kyiv's willingness to take part in talks for "lasting peace" as well as to conclude a crucial minerals agreement following their heated dispute.
