WASC is recognized as an institutional accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education. It accredits institutions within the United States and all around the world. WASC accreditation is a vital indicator of academic quality and is important for the following reasons:
Since its inception, UoPeople has broken barriers by offering tuition-free degree programs in business administration, computer science, health science, and education. With a student body of 153,000 learners from 209 countries and territories, including more than 18,500 refugees, UoPeople continues to be a pioneer in making education accessible to all.
In addition to WASC accreditation, UoPeople is also accredited by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC), a national educational accreditation agency in the U.S. specializing in distance education institutions. The DEAC is recognized as an accreditor by both the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
