
Minister Of Labour Chairs Arab Labour Organization Board Meeting In Cairo
DOHA: Minister of Labour H E Dr. Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri, chaired the 102nd session of the Arab Labour Organization's (ALO) Board of Directors, held yesterday in Cairo, Egypt.
The meeting convened representatives from governments, employers, and workers across Arab countries, adhering to the principle of tripartite representation. Several pertinent Arab and regional organizations also participated.
The Board deliberated on several key issues, including the follow-up on resolutions from its 101st session, a report on the conditions of Palestinian workers and citizens in occupied Arab territories, and the outcomes of the 115th session of the Economic and Social Council. Additionally, the Board reviewed the proposed agenda for the 52nd Arab Labour Conference, scheduled for 2026.
Discussions also encompassed Arab participation in the upcoming 113th session of the International Labour Conference (ILO) in Geneva this June, aiming to harmonize Arab positions within the ILO.
