Strengthening Collaborative Security: Takeaways from Binance’s APAC Law Enforcement Day
(MENAFN- Adfactors PR) February 26, 2025: Binance and Gulf Binance, a joint venture between Binance’s subsidiary and Gulf Edge Co. Ltd., recently co-hosted the first cross-regional, in-person Law Enforcement Training Day for APAC in Bangkok, Thailand. This full-day session gathered over 120 government officials, law enforcement officers, and blockchain specialists from across Asia-Pacific to share insights, strengthen investigative skills, and build a more resilient defense against illicit activities in the crypto space.
Bringing together representatives from organizations such as the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society of Thailand, UNODC, the World Economic Forum-hosted Cybercrime Atlas, and law enforcement officers from Thailand, Taiwan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mongolia, Singapore, and Australia, the event underscored the power of collaboration in tackling cybercrime.
Capacity Building for Law Enforcement
During the training, experts from Binance, Kodex, Chainalysis, TRM Labs, Elliptic, and Merkle Science provided in-depth guidance on crypto transaction tracing, forensic analysis, and case-solving strategies. Law enforcement representatives also shared their real-world experience in investigating digital-asset crimes, allowing for an invaluable exchange of best practices.
A law enforcement official from The Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) of Thailand noted that the rapid evolution of digital crime demands continuous upskilling and emphasized the importance of collaboration among global stakeholders. The training helped officers better understand how blockchain technology can be leveraged to track and disrupt illicit financial activities, reinforcing the growing role of digital forensics in modern policing.
A United Effort to Secure the Digital Space
As Jarek Jakubcek, our Head of Law Enforcement Training, highlighted, securing the digital environment requires close cooperation between public and private sectors. He commended the participants for their commitment, emphasizing that these joint efforts are crucial in pursuing justice in the crypto ecosystem: “Today’s event showcases the kind of broad cooperation and engagement needed to pursue justice in the digital space, and we look forward to keeping the momentum going.”
At Binance, we are dedicated to facilitating these critical conversations and ensuring that law enforcement agencies worldwide have the tools and expertise to investigate crypto-related crimes effectively.
