NSA investigates allegations about its employees using official chat rooms to discuss personal topics
(MENAFN) The National Security Agency (NSA) is investigating allegations that some of its employees used official chat rooms to discuss personal topics such as kinks, gender reassignment surgeries, and fetishes during work hours. According to a report by the City Journal, chat logs from the NSA’s Intelink platform revealed discussions on topics including polyamory, castration, and various fetishes. These conversations reportedly took place in channels designated for LGBTQ+ and pride-related discussions, originally created for diversity conversations but allegedly used for personal matters.
The NSA has confirmed it is reviewing the situation and emphasized that employees found to have violated agency policies will face disciplinary action. An NSA spokesperson reminded staff that sharing non-mission-related content in official channels is a violation of the agency’s usage policy.
The report also noted that discussions occurred during work hours, paid by US taxpayers, and raised concerns that gender activists within the agency had taken over LGBTQ+ employee resource groups to promote personal interests.
Following the revelations, Tulsi Gabbard, the new Director of National Intelligence, condemned the behavior, calling it unacceptable and pledging accountability. She also mentioned that the affected chat groups were immediately shut down after President Donald Trump signed executive orders addressing issues related to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives and "radical gender ideology.
