Torkham Border Tensions Halt Trade And Travel Amid Security Alert

(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) Trade activities at the Pak-Afghan Torkham border have been suspended since last evening, with security on high alert. According to sources, Afghan forces remain adamant about carrying out construction in disputed territory, prompting objections from Pakistani security forces. The rising tensions have led to the closure of the Torkham Gate and the Pak-Afghan Dosti Hospital.

Due to the standoff, export vehicles stationed at Zero Point have been sent back, while Torkham customs clearing agents have vacated their offices. President of the Torkham Customs Clearing Agents Association, Haji Mujeeb Shinwari, advised all clearing agents to close their offices in light of the situation.
