TRIFED Partners With Reliance Retail, HCL Foundation & Torajamelo To Boost Tribal Enterprises
The agreements, formalised through Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) on February 19, 2025, were signed during the ongoing Aadi Mahotsav festival at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi.
The collaboration with Reliance Retail, India's largest retail chain, focuses on establishing bulk supply channels for tribal products while implementing sustainable sourcing initiatives and enhanced branding strategies.
HCL Foundation's partnership aims to strengthen capacity building through specialised training programs for tribal artisans, along with promoting their products across various platforms.
The agreement with Torajamelo Indonesia marks a significant step toward international market expansion, potentially opening new opportunities for Indian tribal artisans in Indonesian markets while fostering cross-cultural artistic exchange.
The signing ceremony was attended by key representatives including Pradeep Ramachandran, Senior Vice President of Reliance Retail, Dr. Nidhi Pundhir, Global CSR Head, HCL Foundation, and Aparna Saxena Bhatnagar, CEO, Torajamelo Indonesia. TRIFED's Managing Director, Ashish Chatterjee, presided over the exchange of agreements.
These initiatives represent a comprehensive approach to integrating tribal communities into mainstream economic development while preserving and promoting their unique cultural heritage and traditional craftsmanship.
