Ukrainian Forces Repel Massive Russian Assault Near Velyka Novosilka

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Ukrainian defenders have successfully repelled a large-scale Russian offensive near Velyka Novosilka in the Donetsk region, where enemy forces deployed significant infantry units and dozens of armored vehicles.

The 110th Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Ground Forces reported this on Facebook , sharing video footage of the battle's aftermath, according to Ukrinform.

Russian forces launched a massive assault, attempting to take advantage of poor weather conditions, advancing in column after column.

Despite snowy weather and low visibility, Ukrainian reconnaissance detected the enemy early. Soldiers of the 110th Brigade, along with neighboring units, systematically engaged the attackers.

"A few enemy armored vehicles managed to retreat, but the rest were left to rust on the battlefield. Infantry was bombarded with shells," the brigade reported.
