Doha, Qatar: The third edition of the Souq Waqif International Dates Exhibition commenced on Thursday at the Eastern Arena of Souq Waqif, showcasing premium dates and related products from both local and international markets.

The 12-day event features offerings from 95 companies representing seven countries, with exhibitors from Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Algeria, Oman, Pakistan, and Sudan joining local participants.

Visitors can explore a wide variety of dates including Medjool, Khudri, Halawy, Mazafati, and more, while enjoying complimentary tastings of dates and Arabic coffee accompanied by detailed explanations of the different varieties.

The inaugural day attracted a large crowd, marking the exhibition as one of the country's biggest events.

Building on last year's success, during which over 80 tonnes of dates were sold, organisers expect this year's edition to attract even more visitors and surpass previous sales records.

The exhibition will run until February 24, 2025, welcoming guests daily from 9 am. to 12 pm and again from 3:30 pm to 10 pm.
