Trump’s Special Envoy Keith Kellogg to Visit Ukraine as Diplomatic Efforts Intensify


(MENAFN) US President Donald trump confirmed on Monday that his special envoy for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg, will be visiting Ukraine this week to engage in diplomatic efforts surrounding the ongoing conflict. Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump praised Kellogg’s capabilities, referring to him as “an excellent guy.”

Trump further indicated that he is likely to speak with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy soon, emphasizing that both Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin are keen on reaching a deal to end the war. "It’s got to be done," Trump said, underscoring the need for dialogue and resolution.

Trump reiterated his stance that, under his administration, the Russia-Ukraine conflict would never have started. Although he was asked whether he had spoken directly with Putin, Trump declined to provide details, preferring to keep discussions private. However, he stated that his ultimate goal remains to save lives and bring about a deal that ends the conflict.
