Tucker Carlson claims Ukraine sells US arms to Mexican drug cartels

(MENAFN) Tucker Carlson, a US journalist, has claimed that a significant portion of the weapons supplied by the US to Ukraine are ending up on the international black market, including in the hands of Mexican drug cartels. During an interview with retired US army Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Davis, Carlson asserted that as much as half of the military aid sent to Ukraine is being sold by the Ukrainian military.

Carlson alleged that Washington is providing Ukraine with hundreds of billions of dollars in arms, much of which is being stolen and sold to America's enemies, including criminal organizations. While he provided no specific evidence or sources, he described the situation as a "crime" and a "nightmare," claiming that these weapons can be easily purchased online.

Since 2022, the US has approved approximately $175 billion in aid for Ukraine, though much of the funds have reportedly been directed towards US industries and government activities related to the conflict.

Moscow has raised concerns that the influx of Western weapons into Ukraine has contributed to these arms falling into the hands of organized criminal groups. There have been multiple reports from Western officials and media acknowledging that Ukrainian weapons have been trafficked, with incidents of smuggled arms showing up in the EU, Israel, and other regions.
