Ukrainians Flee Poland for Germany Due to Better Wages and Benefits

(MENAFN) Ukrainians are increasingly leaving Poland for Germany, seeking higher wages, better social benefits, and improved access to healthcare, according to the Ukrainian information portal InPoland. The trend has gained momentum as Warsaw announces that it will no longer accept immigrants due to rising discontent among Polish taxpayers regarding the influx of Ukrainians.

“One of the main reasons for Ukrainian refugees moving from Poland to Germany is that higher wages, social benefits and better healthcare make Germany more attractive to refugees,” InPoland reported on Saturday.

The site noted that stricter conditions for access to social programs, combined with “economic factors,” have played a significant role in this migration shift.

In recent months, Polish officials have expressed growing frustration, with many taxpayers becoming dissatisfied with Ukrainians seemingly living luxurious lifestyles rather than returning home to assist in the fight against Russia. On Monday, Polish Interior Minister Tomasz Siemoniak declared that Poland would stop accepting new migrants, despite being bound by an EU migration pact adopted last year.
